Akçansa, operating as a joint venture between Sabancı Holding and Heidelberg Materials, has announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2025. During this period, Akçansa achieved 4.3 billion TL in sales, with EBITDA totaling 186.3 million TL for the first quarter of 2025.
Strong Performance Despite Challenging Conditions
Vecih Yılmaz, CEO of Akçansa, stated that the company continues to move forward successfully in line with its sustainability vision. Yılmaz noted, “With our integrated production system, efficient operational network, and focus on business optimization, we continue to work for the sustainable future of our country. Despite the decline in cement and ready-mixed concrete volumes caused by adverse weather conditions and a stagnant market environment, we managed to partially balance the volume decline in the challenging pricing environment through reduced energy costs and disciplined financial management. While inflation-driven cost pressures created challenges, operational factors such as effective asset management and reduced discount expenses supported Akçansa’s overall financial performance and contributed to maintaining the company’s strong balance sheet. We expect this situation, which impacted our financial and operational performance, to gradually normalize in the upcoming period.”
Sustainability and Social Achievements
Akçansa continues to crown its efforts in sustainability with awards. Yılmaz highlighted that the company maintained an A- (Leadership) score in the 2024 Climate Change Program of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). He also mentioned that Akçansa’s Büyükçekmece Plant and Gebze Ready-Mix Concrete Facility renewed their Gold-level Responsible Resource Use Certifications, further reinforcing its commitment to environmentally friendly production practices.
Yılmaz also shared that Akçansa received an important award for gender equality and employment opportunities, stating, “With our GençİZ Long-Term Women’s Internship Program, we were honored with the ‘International Women-Friendly Brands 2025 Awareness Award’ in the ‘Women Employment and Equal Opportunities in the Workplace’ category. We will continue our journey towards a sustainable future.”
