Akçansa, a joint venture of Sabancı Holding and Heidelberg Materials, has published its 2024 Integrated Annual Report. In this comprehensive report, the company shares its operations throughout the year, future strategies, and sustainability approach from a holistic perspective.
The report was prepared in full compliance with the Türkiye Sustainability Reporting Standards (TSRS S1 – S2), the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). With this feature, Akçansa’s report stands out as the first ISSB/TSRS-aligned report published in the cement sector in Türkiye.
Since 2010, Akçansa has been reporting its sustainability performance in accordance with international standards. This year, the report also includes in-depth insights on priority issues determined by the double materiality principle.
According to the report, the company closed the year with TRY 21.6 billion in net sales revenue and TRY 3.9 billion in EBITDA. Akçansa’s total domestic cement and clinker sales increased by 1.1% compared to 2023, reaching 4.84 million tons in 2024. Export sales rose by 4.7%, totaling 2.49 million tons. Overall, total cement and clinker sales increased by 2.3%, reaching 7.3 million tons in 2024.
Throughout the year, Akçansa achieved 7.3 million tons of cement and clinker sales, 2.8 million cubic meters of ready-mixed concrete production, and 2.6 million tons of aggregate sales.
Akçansa became the first Turkish cement company to sign the United Nations CEO Water Mandate. The Bursa Aggregate Facility became the first and only CSC-certified platinum-level plant in Türkiye and one of only 12 plants worldwide to reach this level. Additionally, the company ranked 84th on the ISO 500 list.
