Although the concrete is known as the main construction element in our country, it is also an effective solution to the road construction thanks to its durability and the capacity of bearing heavy tonnage. Concrete roads, whose first implementation cost is higher than asphalt, can be used for 20 or 30 years without a need for a major repair. As for asphalt roads, their durability is less than 12 years.
Aside from its durability, one of the most important advantages of the concrete roads is ensuring noiseless and comfortable driving experience. Providing a safe driving experience in rainy weather thanks to its feature of drying faster, ensuring shorter stop distance and reflecting less light, concrete roads also decreases the consumption of petrol and petroleum products.
Building concrete plant for various concrete road projects abroad, MEKA built a concrete road plant for the German giant Heidelberg lastly.
German Giant Heidelberg Preferred MEKA Once Again for the Concrete Road Project
HEIDELBERG, the German cement and ready mixed concrete giant, keeps contributing to Georgian economy thanks to the infrastructure projects it undertook in Georgia.
A mobile concrete plant with a capacity of 120 m³/h was established by MEKA in the E-60 concrete road project connecting the cities of Ruisi and Agara in Georgia in recent months. This concrete plant was designed for the concrete road project in particular and it makes it possible to produce low slump (S1) road concrete with a mixing period of 45 seconds. Having a capacity of 135m³/h for the production of ready mixed concrete at the same time, the plant is 100% mobile and it can be easily assembled and put into use in a short while without any special basic need. The mobile plant is built on 2 different wheeled chassis. While the first chassis bears the aggregate bunker and aggregate weighing conveyor, the other one bears the main chassis group with a mixer and weighing chambers. Specially designed steel bases eliminate the need for a concrete pillar while building a silo.
