In the January-April period of 2018, cement production increased by 12.86 percent compared to the previous year. 9.3 percent of the production realized the same period was exported.

According to the January-April data of cement industry the locomotive of Turkey’s economy, the domestic sales increased by 15.42 percent; the largest increase in sales realized in the region was seen in the Eastern Anatolia region.
Stating that after the harsh winter conditions experienced last year, unexpectedly the temperatures in the first months of this year are above the seasonal normals and there were very high increases in production and sales, Turkish Cement Manufacturers’ Association (TÇMB) Chairman Nihat Özdemir expressed that these growth rates in March and April went back to the normal monthly basis. Turkish Cement Manufacturers’ Association (TÇMB) Chairman Nihat Özdemir said; “According to the TUIK (Turkish Statistical Institute) data, in January-April 2018, while Haiti is the country where we increased exports the most (cement + clinker); U.S.A. and Ghana follows this country. According to the April figures, the most cement exports were made to the U.S.”
