Turkish Cement Manufacturers Association (TÇMB) announced the quarterly data of the sector.
While there is a 15.5 percent increase in cement production in January- March 2018 compared to the previous year, 9.4 percent of the produced cement was exported. According to the report, domestic sales increased by 19.5 percent in January-March 2018. On the regional basis, the greatest increase in domestic sales was in the Eastern Anatolia region.
Making assessments related to the report, Turkish Cement Manufacturers Association (TÇMB) Board Chairman Nihat Özdemir said: “Since we did not experience the harsh winter conditions in the first months of 2017 in this year, there was a growth of 31 percent in sales in the first two months of the year. In March, sales increased by 4 percent on a monthly basis, returning to its normal course. In January-March 2018, Haiti was the country where the sector’s exports (cement + clinker) increased the most, as can be seen from TUIK data in our report. This country was followed by Mauritania, Ghana and Brazil. Again, in the January-March period of 2018; the most exported countries were Ghana, U.S.A. and Israel. “
