The Cement Industry Employers’ Union (ÇEİS), of which almost all the cement industry is a member, and the interlocutor worker union Turkey Çimse-İş Union signed the new term group collective bargaining agreement, which will be valid for 2022-2023. The unions agreed at a rate of 43 percent in the group collective bargaining agreement covering 29 ÇEİS member organizations across Turkey.
ÇEİS Chairman of the Board Suat ÇALBIYIK, said the following about the new signed term group collective bargaining agreement: “The past year has been a difficult period for the entire business world; As the cement sector, one of the locomotive industries of the Turkish economy, we have made all the sacrifices we can by taking responsibility for the continuation of labor peace. I would like to thank the Turkish Çimse-İş Union for showing the same conciliatory approach. By conducting the group collective bargaining agreement process, which will be valid in our sector in 2022-2023, based on mutual agreement, we completed it peacefully and within the legal time limit. Thanks to the social dialogue and mutual dedication established throughout the negotiations, we signed another successful agreement that will continue for 2 years. According to the new term group collective bargaining agreement covering our member factories, the Turkish cement sector employees will receive a salary increase of 43 percent in the first year and of CPI + 2 in the second year. I hope that the tradition of reconciliation, which we have maintained for many years, will continue in the coming terms. May the group collective bargaining agreement of 2022-2023 be beneficial to cement sector employers and workers of our sector.”
