Turkey Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMB) organized “Cement Sector Briefing for Public Institutions and Field Visits” to Public Officials in Limak Anka Cement Plant within the frame of “Open Days” in order to realize an on-site briefing about cement production process. The managers opened the gates of the plant to public officials with a transparent management approach.
Working on increasing the energy efficiency of the Turkish Cement Sector and carrying out informative activities on cement production processes, Turkey Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMB) organized an information meeting and a technical visit on March 28, 2019 in Limak Anka Cement Plant for senior executives and specialists of Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning, Ministry of Industry and Trade Ministry, TUIK, Energy Market Regulatory Authority and Industrial Development Bank of Turkey, which are among its most respected stakeholders.
In the briefing meeting, which was opened by TCMB Energy Deputy Manager Sabit Uslu, the purpose of the visit was explained. Uslu said, “It is very important for the cement sector that the managers and experts working in the relevant departments of the stakeholder institutions are able to speak the sectoral language and develop empathy in the report, statistical information collection and comparison studies to be prepared by the legislation studies. Today, we have gathered you here at the center of cement production for the need of transferring the cement production processes, which is a great demand by the technical experts working in the public sector.” In the meeting, General Manager of Limak Anka Cement Plant Mehmet Marasli gave general information on the cement production processes and then Plant Maintenance Manager Bulent Bulut and TCMB Environmental and Climate Change Manager Canan Derinoz Gencel made a wide range of presentations related to the sectoral priorities and development data, energy consumption points, energy management, efficiency studies, climate change, greenhouse gas emissions and waste recovery along with the Q&A session. The authorized persons of Limak Anka Cement Plant, which started its operations with its new plant in its new location in Ankara, made the briefing for public stakeholders with its “Open Door” sensitivity and transparency within the framework of its sustainable production, quality, efficiency, environmental compliance and social benefit mission. The meeting ended with a technical field trip organized within the plant.
