The project developed through the collaboration between CIMPOR-OYAK Cement and FIZIX will enable the early detection of potential failures in cement plants before they occur. As part of the TCC Group, CIMPOR will implement this innovation across 25 facilities in 10 countries on three continents.

Global Monitoring of Machine Health
CIMPOR Global, a subsidiary of TCC Group that also includes OYAK Cement, is advancing its industry leadership with a new initiative in partnership with FIZIX. This collaboration is not only a milestone for the cement industry but also for various other sectors. The project aims to significantly reduce machine failures and related labor and energy losses, thereby enhancing production efficiency. Additionally, it will contribute to the production of eco-friendly building materials with a lower carbon footprint.
Sensor and AI-Powered System
As the world’s third-largest cement producer with an annual capacity of 112 million tons, CIMPOR will implement the project in a total of 25 facilities, including plants in Türkiye, Portugal, and Africa. Utilizing 10,500 sensors, the system will enable global machine health monitoring. The optimization phase will commence in 2025, with the project initially being deployed in six countries. By 2026, it will expand to include CIMPOR’s operations in China and Taiwan.

Focus on Sustainability and Digitalization
CIMPOR-OYAK Cement CTO Berkan Fidan emphasized that this is the most extensive AI-powered machine health initiative in heavy industry to date. Highlighting the company’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and increasing energy efficiency, he noted that CIMPOR has allocated €800 million to innovative investments over the past five years. Furthermore, 35% of the company’s annual profits will be dedicated to R&D and innovation efforts.

“Designing the Future of Production”
CIMPOR-OYAK Cement Chairman Suat Çalbıyık stated that the company has established a strong position in the global cement industry. He reaffirmed their commitment to low-carbon materials, resource recycling, and green energy. “We are not just producing cement; we are designing the future of production,” Çalbıyık said, emphasizing their commitment to carbon-neutral manufacturing, sustainable innovations, and a greater global impact through digitalization and efficiency improvements.
