Çimsa, a subsidiary of Sabancı Holding, has announced its inflation-adjusted financial results for the first quarter of 2025. Continuing its strong financial performance of recent years, Çimsa increased its revenue by 21% compared to the same period last year, reaching TL 8.9 billion. The company’s EBITDA also rose by 37% to TL 1.1 billion, driven by both organic and inorganic sales growth, enhanced production efficiency, cost-reduction initiatives, and strong capacity utilization. One of the major steps taken by Çimsa to improve operational efficiency—the Eskişehir Solar Power Plant investment—was also completed in the first quarter. This project aims to meet 14% of the annual energy needs of the Eskişehir plant.
In his statement, Çimsa CEO Umut Zenar emphasized the company’s continued commitment to domestic and international investments in line with its sustainable growth strategy. Zenar said, “Last year, we acquired Ireland-based Mannok, and we began to see its positive contribution to our balance sheet by the final quarter. This positive impact has continued into the first quarter of this year, and by year-end, we expect to see the full benefit of this investment. Meanwhile, our ongoing grey cement investment in the U.S. is also scheduled to be commissioned in the final quarter of the year. Through the steps we are taking during these challenging times globally, we are not only managing Çimsa’s present effectively but also preparing for tomorrow’s competitive landscape. Our investments in production, technology, supply chain management, and sustainability further strengthen Çimsa’s identity as a ‘global company ready for the future.’”
The Only Building Materials Company in BIST30
Highlighting the company’s rising appeal among investors thanks to its recent financial success, Umut Zenar added, “As a Sabancı Group company, being a pioneer and role model in our industry, achieving firsts, and striving for global leadership are of great importance to us. We have achieved many industry-firsts in Türkiye and will continue to do so. As of April 1, we are now a BIST30 company. We are proud to be the only building materials company currently listed on the BIST30 index.”
Sustainability and Renewable Energy Investments Continue
Positioning sustainability as a strategic priority, Çimsa continues to expand its renewable energy investments to reduce energy costs and minimize environmental impact. Following the commissioning of solar power plants in Afyon in 2023 and Buñol in 2024, a new 14.2 MWp DC-capacity solar power plant was completed in Eskişehir. Developed in under a year, this facility will contribute to reducing energy costs at the Eskişehir plant while also supporting Çimsa’s carbon emission reduction targets under the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
