Associate of Sabancı Holding and worldwide player of cement and building materials sector, Çimsa has been continuing to support “Women in Clean Energy Symposium” since 2013 within the framework of sustainability-driven investment.
Having been running business in the cement sector since 1972, Çimsa carries out many works with sensitivity it shows in energy efficiency and a perspective of empowering women in business life. Under the leadership of such works, it creates value for a sustainable future as the sole company from Turkey that gives support to “2017 C3E Women in Clean Energy Symposium” held between 15-16 November.
The Initiative for Extending and Providing Training on Clean Energy came into existence in cooperation of the Ministries of Clean Energy from 25 countries. C3E Initiative points out the fact that women in particular lag behind in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) as well as clean energy sector, emphasizing that all segments of the society must take responsibility for the problems foreseen to be experienced with regard to energy resources. C3E aims to enhance the participation and leadership of women in clean energy in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Energy, MIT Energy Initiative and Stanford Precourt Institute for Energy.
Çimsa leads its sector with its energy efficiency policy and achievement in producing energy from alternative fuels. Following the worldwide clean energy investments, it draws attention to the importance of women playing active role in clean energy sector thanks to its cooperation with C3E Platform. With this point of view, Çimsa keeps up with the trends shared by the speechmakers at the symposium and aspires to contribute to the national economy with innovative works.
Having signature under The UN’s Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) as well as the Declaration on Equality at Work, it also carries out works in order that women appear in every field on an equal footing.
