Fizix, a domestic and national technology company operating in the fields of Industry 4.0 and digitalization, has delivered one of the most tangible examples of public–private sector cooperation. At the event titled “The International Success Story of Government-Supported R&D: The Fizix Technology Panel”, held at Bilkent Cyberpark, the global success of the company’s technology developed under TÜBİTAK’s 1501 program was discussed by public and private sector stakeholders.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Industry and Technology of Türkiye, TÜBİTAK TEYDEB, and OYAK Cement attended the event, where Fizix shared details of its self-powered, AI and digital twin-based sensor technology.
Europe’s Largest Single-Signed Smart Factory Project Entrusted to Turkish Engineers
According to information shared during the panel, the project initiated by Fizix in 2023 with TÜBİTAK support and successfully completed in February 2025 has been commercialized, transforming into a major export asset. Fizix has become the primary technology provider for Europe’s largest smart factory project signed in a single contract. Under the project, 10,600 smart sensors developed by Fizix will monitor production lines 24/7 across 25 factories in 10 countries and 3 continents.
“Our Goal Is to Become a ‘Turcorn’ with Billion-Dollar Valuation Through High-Value-Added Technologies”
Fizix CEO Kadem Berker Yaşar emphasized the leverage effect of government support on commercialization in his opening speech. Yaşar stated:
“I have been part of the technology development ecosystem for 11 years. We have now reached a point where R&D is no longer confined to the laboratory but is transformed into products and exports. Today, we monitor over 40,000 machines across 18 different sectors for more than 150 million hours and provide our customers with savings exceeding 20 million dollars. Our goal is to represent our country as Turcorn with a billion-dollar valuation through our high value-added technologies.”
Public and Private Sector Join Forces for “Transformation”
The panel, moderated by Fizix CIO Boran Düzgün, featured speakers including Kadir Dikili, Head of Technology Entrepreneurship Department at the Ministry of Industry and Technology; TÜBİTAK TEYDEB President Mehmet Aslan; TEYDEB Information Technologies Group Coordinator Ahmet Tümay; OYAK Cement Director of New Technologies Turgut Bayraktar; and Fizix Technical Project Manager Rıdvan Er.
During the panel, discussions covered Turkey’s industrial and technological vision from the public-sector perspective, the role of digital transformation in public policies, the future of government R&D support mechanisms, and the contribution of Fizix’s success story to the innovation ecosystem. From an industry standpoint, speakers emphasized that with the introduction of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, efficiency and carbon reduction have become necessities for industrial operations, highlighting the critical role of domestic solutions like Fizix.
Commenting on the topic, Turgut Albayrak stated: “The greatest contribution of systems like Fizix is their ability to provide reliable data within seconds, enabling planned downtime. This not only prevents secondary, more severe failures but also eliminates the need for employees to collect manual data in the field. With continuously flowing and contextualized data, facilities can be managed in a far safer and more sustainable manner.”
