Akçansa has once again demonstrated its leadership in the industry by winning a total of four awards from two prestigious organizations for its efforts focused on sustainability and social responsibility.
Operating under the partnership of Sabancı Holding and Heidelberg Materials, Akçansa received the first prize in the Social Responsibility category at the 30th Golden Plumb International Building Catalog Awards for its STEM Workshop project, carried out in collaboration with Bricks4Kidz® Türkiye. Aimed at supporting second-grade primary school students through robotic coding education, the project is a strong reflection of the company’s long-term social impact vision.
In addition, Akçansa was honored with three awards in different categories—environmental, economic, and social—at the Investment into Future Awards – Private Sector 2024, organized by the Turkish Construction Material Producers Association (İMSAD).
The awarded projects and their respective categories are as follows:
• Environment: First Prize with the Marmara Islands Artificial Reef Project
• Economy: Second Prize with the Clay4Climate Project
• Social: Third Prize with the STEM Workshop Project
Vecih Yılmaz, CEO of Akçansa, commented on the awards, stating: “Beyond our core business operations, we place great importance on initiatives that contribute to our society, environment, and future. The recognition we’ve received across various categories is a meaningful reflection of our commitment to creating sustainable value. I extend my sincere thanks to all our team members who played a role in these significant achievements. Together with our stakeholders, we will continue working for a better future and adding value to our industry and society.”
