Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) announced the results of “Turkey’s Top 500 Largest Industrial Establishments of 2016.” In this list that is considered as the mirror of Turkish Economy, 20 cement companies were listed, all of which are members of the Turkish Cement Manufacturers’ Association.
Although the Turkish economy has left a difficult year behind, according to the results of ISO 500, the sales of industrial giants increased by 8.8 percent compared to the previous year and reached 490 billion TL, the total operating profit increased by 18.6 percent to 52.4 billion TL And total exports rose by 3.1 percent to $ 55.1 billion TL.
Cement Sector Develops Turkish Economy
The Turkish Cement sector once more asserted its importance in the success rating list of “Top 500 Industrial Enterprises of Turkey” published by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry in the year 2016, and 20 cement companies took their place among the leaders. The Turkish Cement Manufacturers’ Association (TÇMB) member 20 giant names in the cement industry has reached a total turnover of 9.944.778.466 TL.
M. Şefik Tüzün, President of the Turkish Cement Manufacturers’ Association (TÇMB), who has been evaluating the subject stated that “It is once again proven with this list that the cement sector is the basic building block in the country’s development. Moreover, according to the first three months of 2017, about 13.4% of the cement produced has been the subject of exports. In other words, we continue our last year’s growth in a sustainable way in both domestic and foreign markets. This support we have given to the Turkish economy gives us pride.”
