Limak Cement’s success in responsible supply chain management and addressing climate risks has been recognized at a global level by the international environmental reporting platform, CDP.
Taking pioneering steps in sustainability, Limak Cement achieved inclusion in the A List of the Supplier Engagement Assessment (SEA) conducted by CDP, a global environmental reporting organization.
As one of the few companies from Türkiye to be included on this list, Limak Cement’s success is supported by strong collaborations with suppliers in managing Scope 3 emissions, effective data collection processes, carbon footprint calculations, and active commitments to emission reduction.
In 2023, Limak Cement initiated a structural transformation in supply chain sustainability, redesigning its supply chain practices under the themes of social standards, environmental sustainability, governance, transparency, and digitalization. Thanks to these efforts and the Digital ESG assessment systems, the company raised the average performance score of its suppliers to 80.86%, while preventing 124.7 tons of carbon dioxide emissions through digital procurement processes.
Limak Cement Global CEO, Erkam Kocakerim, highlighted that this achievement strengthens the company’s credibility and reputation among international investors, business partners, and financial institutions. He stated: “Being included in the CDP SEA A List demonstrates that our sustainability-based business model, transparent approach, and strong collaborative supply chain model are recognized globally. We are now shaping the sustainability expectations of not only today’s but also tomorrow’s business world.”
The success that reinforces Limak Cement’s commitment to sustainable supply chain management and leadership in addressing climate change is also driven by sustainability practices and the green future vision implemented under the Triple Transformation Project (TTP).
The Sustainability and Climate Change Center (LCSG), which supports ESG- and CDP-compliant policy development, enables a transparent and data-driven management approach, highlighting the structured framework behind this achievement.
By 2030, 70% of Strategic Suppliers Will Complete Reporting
Limak Cement aims to further enhance the impact of its sustainability efforts across the supply chain in the near future. Accordingly, ESG maturity assessments based on supplier segmentation will begin in 2025, and by 2030, 70% of strategic suppliers are expected to complete carbon footprint reporting and commit to emission reduction.
Digitalization of the supplier management process will enable not only operational monitoring but also tracking of environmental and social performance. With this approach, Limak Cement aims to establish a model that goes beyond international platforms such as CDP, SBTi, GRI, and TCFD, setting an example and guiding the industry.
