TS EN 197-5 “Cement – Part 5: Portland-Composite Cement CEM II/CM and Composite Cement CEM V” certificate, which includes the framework of setting standards and increasing quality in the production phase, published in Turkey on September 30, 2021, has been distributed.
With the Kyoto and the Paris Agreements, many countries decided to reduce/minimize their greenhouse gas emissions, and the cement industry is also looking for direct solutions such as alternative raw materials, the use of various by-products, the evaluation of waste, and the use of sustainable fuel. The EN 197-5 standard published by CEN, paves the way for manufacturers to reduce emissions by producing more environmentally friendly products using less clinker.
In this regard, the Limak Şanlıurfa Plant has become the first in Turkey to receive this certificate. With the certificate issued with the number 001, the Limak Şanlıurfa Plant has become the first factory in our country to gain the right to use the “G Certificate”.
