It is necessary to manage the ethical risks of companies in national and global markets, to comply with anti-corruption laws, to reflect the ethical values of companies in their business methods and to establish internal legislation.
As a result of the rapid differentiation of companies’ understanding of doing business in the national and international arena, the need to determine the situation has arisen.
With this understanding, ISO 37301 ‘Compliance Management System’ and ISO 37001 ‘Anti-Bribery Management System Standards meet these needs.
As CPC Certification Organisation, we have initiated ISO 37301 ‘Conformity Management System’ and ISO 37001 ‘Anti-Bribery Management System’ studies. This work has been initiated for the first time in Turkey in the international cement group.
In organisations implementing ISO 37301 ‘Compliance Management System’ and ISO 37001 ‘Anti-Bribery Management System’ standards, senior management has the responsibility to show leadership to achieve the intended results of the relevant management system. The most important competence of leaders is to provide unity of purpose and direction. This is possible through the participation of employees in the system and creating loyalty.
It is only possible for leaders to establish strong communication with employees and stakeholders and create employee loyalty when they gain coaching competences. Coaching is the ability to listen deeply by focusing on the subject, to ask powerful questions and to appreciate. When leaders at all levels in organisations give feedback to their employees on their strengths, it creates an environment of trust.
In the Compliance and Anti-Bribery Management Systems, cement plants are required to carry out necessary activities to increase the competences and skills of their employees. These activities include training, coaching and mentoring. Coaching and leadership trainings for managers or manager candidates at all levels will create a strong awareness. In addition, it is possible to maximise their potential by providing coaching services to these people.
As a result, cement factories should incorporate corporate coaching and leader development programmes into their Compliance and Anti-Bribery Management Systems practices to support the next generation of management.
