Medcem Çimento, subsidiary of Eren Holding and owner of the largest cement factory in both Turkey and Europe, continues to support the province and people of Mersin. The science center and library, which were completed within the cooperation between Medcem and Silifke Municipality, was opened with a ceremony. The science center and library, which were opened for the public in Silifke Taşucu District, was named after Nobel laureate Turkish Scientists Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar.
The center includes nearly 50 scientific instruments
In the Silifke Municipality – Medcem A.Ş. Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar Science center, which will enable students and young people to prepare themselves for the future with newly equipped and modern education tools include nearly 50 scientific tools such as a Mars surface and robot, Earth-Sun-Moon model, infinity corridor space tent, balance tunnel, robot, and electricity generation by wave in water model.
A stage performance by Melek Mosso
After the opening ceremony and speeches of the Silifke Municipality – Medcem A.Ş. Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar Science Center, singer Melek Mosso took the stage and met with the people of Silifke. The audience enjoyed the songs of the famous artist, which topped off the night.

General Manager of Medcem Murat Kahya, who expressed his views on the Silifke Municipality – Medcem A.Ş. Prof. Dr. Aziz Science Center, said: “Science and education are of great importance for the growth and progress of both our country and our economy.
