Medcem Port, which operates to supply the fuel and raw materials needed by Medcem Cement—the largest cement factory in Türkiye and Europe—and to facilitate the shipment of clinker and cement by sea, has taken a significant step toward increasing its capacity. As part of this expansion initiative, a new cement silo was commissioned on February 10, 2025.
Storage Capacity Expanded
Located in Yeşilovacık Neighborhood of Silifke/Taşucu and operating under the supervision of the Taşucu Port Authority and Taşucu Customs Directorate, Medcem Port has expanded its cement storage capacity through this investment. With the addition of the new silo, which has a storage capacity of 20,000 tons, the total cement storage capacity at the port has increased from 38,000 tons to 58,000 tons. This expansion will enhance the efficiency of cement shipment operations and further strengthen the port’s logistics capabilities.
Supporting Strategic Growth Objectives
This investment marks a significant milestone in Medcem Port’s growth strategy. Designed to enhance the port’s existing infrastructure, the capacity expansion project will also contribute to Medcem Cement Group’s production and logistics operations. As one of the region’s most critical logistics hubs, Medcem Port will continue to play a strategic role in Türkiye’s cement exports.
