The 31st Ordinary General Assembly of the Cement Industry Employers’ Association (ÇEİS) was held on February 20, 2025, at the ÇEİS Headquarters, with the participation of leading representatives of the sector. During the meeting, where the Board of Directors for the 2025-2028 term was elected, Honorary Chairman of Limak Holding, Nihat Özdemir, was appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors. In his first statement, Chairman Özdemir said, “As ÇEİS, we will continue to move forward with ‘Firm Steps Towards the Future’.”
The 31st Ordinary General Assembly of ÇEİS took place with the broad participation of delegates from member organizations. During the meeting, the members of the Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and Disciplinary Committee for the new term were elected. ÇEİS Secretary General, Dr. H. Serdar Şardan, also provided sector representatives with information on the association’s activities during the previous term.
At the General Assembly, Limak Holding Honorary Chairman Nihat Özdemir was appointed as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors, while OYAK Cement Chairman of the Board, Suat Çalbiyik, was assigned as Vice Chairman. The Board of Directors also includes Sanko Holding Chairman of the Board, Adil Sani Konukoğlu; Sabancı Holding Materials Technologies Group President, Burak Turgut Orhun; Aşkale Cement Executive Committee Chairman, Fatih Yücelik; Nuh Cement Group Chairman of the Board, Tevfik Bilgin; Batısöke Söke Cement Vice Chairman of the Board, Gülant Candaş; Göltaş Cimento Chairman of the Board, Ş. Nihan Atasagun; and Çimentaş CEO and Board Member, M. Cenker Mirzaoğlu.
ÇEİS Will Continue to Move Forward with “Firm Steps Towards the Future”
ÇEİS’s new Chairman of the Board, Nihat Özdemir, shared his thoughts in his first statement: “Representing almost the entire cement industry with 65 plants affiliated with our 34 member companies, ÇEİS has marked a significant day for both our sector and our national industry with its 31st Ordinary General Assembly. I wish the new Board of Directors success and extend my gratitude to ÇEİS’s esteemed representatives and my colleagues in the administration for their trust. I would also like to express my appreciation to our former Chairman and Board Members for their dedication and contributions to the development of the cement sector. Taking over this responsibility from them, we will continue to fulfill our duties with great devotion, never shying away from any responsibility, and striving to provide even greater contributions. As it has for the past 60 years, ÇEİS will continue to play its role in the advancement of the cement industry and maintain its efforts to preserve the labor peace established within our sector, while also striving to generate benefits for society.”
