According to January data from the cement industry as the locomotive of Turkey’s economy, while there realized a 108% percent increase in total exports, 23.6% of the cement produced was subject to export.
Cement Sector 2019 January data was announced by Turkey Cement Manufacturers Association. In the first months of 2018, with a warm winter season above the seasonal averages, sales in January last year were higher than expected. Thanks to this situation brought about by seasonality as well as the contraction in the last 5 months of last year, the contraction in domestic cement sales continued. South-Eastern Anatolia is the region with the lowest contraction in domestic sales on a regional basis.
According to data from TUIK, the clinker and cement exports of the sector increased by 108% in January. There was a value-based increase of 89% in the sector and the export revenue in January was realized as 64 Million Dollars.
Again according to TUIK data, in January, the US was the market where the most cement and clinker exports were made, and Cameroon and Guinea followed this market. Israel, Ivory Coast and Ghana were among the other markets where export rates increased.
