CIMPOR-OYAK Cement has once again demonstrated its commitment to ethical business practices and sustainable management by obtaining the ISO 37001:2017 Anti-Bribery Management System and ISO 37301:2021 Compliance Management System certifications. With these certifications, OYAK Cement has become the first company in the Turkish cement industry to achieve this recognition. Covering CIMPOR’s operations across three continents and six countries, these certifications reinforce the company’s compliance-driven and transparency-focused business approach.
Pioneering Steps in Ethics and Transparency
While ISO 37001 aims to establish an effective system for combating bribery and corruption, ISO 37301 ensures that compliance management processes align with international standards. Commenting on this achievement, CIMPOR-OYAK Cement’s Internal Audit, Risk, and Compliance Group Director Özge Aşçıoğlu emphasized that these certifications contribute to the company’s ethical values and sustainable growth objectives, further strengthening trust among stakeholders.
Outstanding Practices in the Industry
CIMPOR shared its expertise in compliance management at the 13th European Compliance & Ethics Institute Conference, held in Lisbon from March 10-12. CIMPOR Senior Compliance and Risk Management Specialist Maria Inês Mendes and Özge Aşçıoğlu participated in the panel discussion titled “Compliance Beyond European Borders: Driving Compliance in Africa,” where they shared insights into managing compliance challenges in African countries.
