Through OYAK Cement’s 2025 Life-Saving Rules Campaign, employees across the company’s seven factories in Türkiye focused on two high-risk critical themes: “Safe Work at Height” and “Safe Work in Confined Spaces.” Following the factory-level competitions, winners from both categories came together for the final inter-factory competition. OYAK Cement’s Mardin Factory teams emerged as the overall winners in both categories.

OYAK Cement recognises occupational health and safety (OHS) as an “indispensable priority,” embracing a “people first” philosophy in all its operations. The company treats OHS not merely as a regulatory obligation, but as a way of life. With the ultimate goal of “zero workplace accidents,” OYAK Cement aims to go beyond legal requirements, creating a healthy and safe working environment, preventing occupational accidents and diseases, and reaching exemplary standards above global benchmarks.

Commenting on the successful completion of the campaign, OYAK Cement Country CEO Murat Sela stated:“At OYAK Cement, we consider OHS a fundamental value to be embedded in every aspect of our operations. Through our 2025 Life-Saving Rules Campaign, we aimed to reinforce safe behavior in the most critical risk areas and strengthen our proactive safety culture. I sincerely congratulate all employees who participated in the activities and, in particular, our teams at the Mardin Factory. Their success demonstrates our firm commitment to achieving our ultimate goal of zero workplace accidents.”

The campaign initially featured theoretical and practical competitions across all factories under the slogans, “If your work involves confined spaces, make safety your every step” and “If your work is at height, make safety your foundation.” Following these activities, the teams that won at the factory level competed in the Inter-Factory Final at OYAK Cement’s Aslan Factory and ÇİSİEM (Darıca Training Center) facilities. The finalists first participated in the theoretical stage through the OHS Wheel Knowledge Contest, followed by a practical field stage.

As a result of their outstanding performance, the Mardin Cement Factory teams were declared winners in both the “Safe Work at Height” and “Safe Work in Confined Spaces” categories. All members of the first-place teams were awarded gifts in recognition of their achievement and dedication.
