Polisan Holding won the Low Carbon Hero Award from the Sustainable Production and Consumption Association (SÜT-D) at the 10th Istanbul Carbon Summit. The company, recognized for its projects aimed at reducing its carbon footprint, prevented 8,436 tons of carbon emissions in 2024.
Polisan Holding CEO, Cantekin Dinçerler, stated that the company continues to implement its sustainability strategies with a focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance. “In 2024, we launched many projects that increased efficiency and provided energy savings. We supported these efforts with investments in digitalization and automation. We also achieved additional savings through new logistics applications. In 2024, we increased the share of our electricity needs met from renewable energy sources to 80%. Moreover, we saved 435,000 kWh of energy this year and a total of 5.1 million kWh over the last three years, preventing approximately 22,000 tons of carbon emissions with these efforts alone. We continue to steadily reduce our carbon emissions every year,” he said.
Polisan Holding Sustainability Manager, Dilek Sarıaslan, emphasized that the company’s efficiency projects, use of renewable energy, and logistics applications prevented 8,436 tons of carbon emissions in 2024. “We are pleased to have achieved performance above our carbon reduction targets in our five-year strategies. To strengthen our sustainability governance, we align all our activities with the SDGs and integrate our targets into our business processes. As we continue to prepare for science-based targets, we are also strengthening Polisan Holding’s ESG score with new investments,” she said.
Polisan Holding has been calculating its emissions in accordance with the ISO 14064 standard and the GHG Protocol for nearly 13 years. In the past 4 years, it has expanded these calculations to include all of its emissions. With climate reporting aligned with ISSB standards, Polisan Holding transparently tracks the financial impacts of its transition to a low-carbon economy. In line with its long-term goals, the company is also aligning with Türkiye’s 2053 Net Zero target and continues its efforts with a net zero emissions target set for 2053.
