Schneider Electric has announced its sustainability performance and annual financial data for the last quarter of 2024. The company’s Sustainability Impact Score (SSI) reached 7.55 out of 10, surpassing its year-end target of 7.40. Schneider Electric prioritizes achieving its sustainability goals by consistently monitoring and reporting its progress in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) areas.
Chris Leong, Chief Sustainability Officer at Schneider Electric, highlighted that the company was recognized as the “World’s Most Sustainable Company” by TIME and Statista in 2024 and secured the top spot-on Corporate Knights’ Global 100 list for the second time. Leong stated, “As we enter the final year of our Sustainability Impact program, we remain committed to transforming our goals into action. There is still work to be done, but with the support of our extensive ecosystem, our people, and all our Impact Makers, we are confident in our success.”
Since 2018, Schneider Electric has enabled 679 million tons of CO₂ savings through its energy-efficient products, software, and services. Under the company’s “Zero Carbon Project,” more than 1,000 suppliers have taken significant steps toward energy efficiency and renewable energy transition. By the end of 2024, supplier emissions were reduced by 40%. Additionally, Schneider Electric’s suppliers committed to fair wages, safe working conditions, and ethical business principles, increasing the percentage of compliant suppliers from 21% to 63% in just one year.
Schneider Electric has also made significant progress in sustainable energy access, providing clean and reliable energy to 53.4 million people as of 2024. Through projects such as solar-powered microgrids in Africa, the company aims to improve the quality of life for local communities. Furthermore, Schneider Electric has trained 824,000 individuals in energy management, nearing its 2025 target of one million people.
The company has been listed in the DJSI World Index for the 14th consecutive year, earned a spot on CDP’s A List, and received an AAA rating from MSCI ESG. Awarded the Platinum Medal by EcoVadis, Schneider Electric continues to stand out with its sustainable products and packaging initiatives. By the end of 2024, the company increased the share of green materials in its products to 38% and aims to raise this to 50% by 2025. In its efforts to reduce single-use plastics, Schneider Electric achieved 78% recycled cardboard usage and leads in waste management with 135 recycling facilities.
Under its “Decent Work” program, launched in 2021, 63% of Schneider Electric’s strategic suppliers have met the requirements for ensuring fair working conditions and protecting workers’ rights. In East Africa, India, and Bangladesh, 2.5 million people have gained easier access to healthcare services through Schneider Electric’s projects.
