Investments aimed at increasing production capacity in the Turkish cement sector continue at full speed. In this context, Sintek Group is successfully executing the contractual works for the 120 t/h cement mill project under construction at OYAK Cement Factories Inc.’s İskenderun Plant. Within the scope of the project, Sintek Group has undertaken foundation piling, excavation, construction, mechanical works, grounding, auxiliary equipment supply, and project management, making a significant contribution to the plant’s modernization and capacity expansion process. Following the site handover, the completion of the first phase — including additive feeding lines, auxiliary facilities, and a 2,000-ton capacity steel cement silo — and the second phase — including a 20,000-ton capacity reinforced concrete cement silo — is targeted within 12 months and 21 days.
Sintek Group plays a key role in one of the major projects of the Turkish cement industry: the OYAK Cement İskenderun Plant Cement Mill construction. To date, approximately 22,000 m³ of concrete has been poured and 4,800 tons of rebar have been used in the project. The 20,000-ton capacity cement silo was constructed using the slipform method. While the construction works for all units have been completed, road and site arrangement activities are ongoing.
In mechanical works, Sintek Group has successfully carried out the assembly and disassembly of 2,617 tons of equipment and the installation of 1,623 tons of steel. The project scope includes the construction of the cement mill, conveying lines, additive feeding area, 2,000-ton steel silo, 20,000-ton reinforced concrete silo, roads, retaining walls, compressor building, and electrical room — all executed by Sintek Group. The system filters, air slides, bunkers, pipe fabrications, and other equipment for the project are being manufactured at Sintek’s workshop in Ankara, while part of the technological and mechanical equipment is supplied through local production.
By conducting the testing and commissioning of the truck feeding bunker, cement mill feeding and conveying lines, Sintek Group continues to demonstrate its engineering expertise and experience at every stage, aiming to complete the OYAK Cement İskenderun Plant Cement Mill project within the planned schedule.
