According to the information compiled by Ajans Press from Turkish Statistics Institute, 1 million 409 thousand 314 residences changed their owners as a result of sales in 2017. In residence sales, İstanbul was at the top with the sales of 238 thousand 383 residences and a share of 16.9 percent. By sales figures, İstanbul is followed by Ankara with the sales of 150 thousand 561 residences and 10.7 percent share and İzmir with the sales of 84 thousand 184 residences and 6 percent share. The province where the least residence sales was Hakkari with 124 residences.
Residences sold all through Turkey became 132 thousand 972 with a reduction by 6.8 percent in December 2017 compared to the same month of the previous year, while İstanbul got the biggest share of 17.2 percent with the sales of 22 thousand 932 residences. Residence sales with mortgage, on the other hand, reduced by 30.7 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and became 34 thousand 29.
In the residence sales to citizens of foreign origin in 2017, İstanbul was at the top with 8 thousand 182 residences and Antalya was the second with 4 thousand 707 residences. Among the foreigners, Iraqi people purchased the most residences with 3 thousand 805 purchases. Iraqi citizens were followed by Saudi Arabian ones with 3 thousand 345 residences, Kuwait ones with one thousand 691 residences, Russian ones with one thousand 331 residences and Afghani ones with one thousand 78.
