Akçansa, a leading construction materials company in Turkey, achieved a turnover of about 1.5 billion TL last year, according to its consolidated income statement prepared on December 31, 2016 and the period’s financial results. In sum, the company achieved a sales revenue of 1 billion and 461 million TL, a gross income of 417.5 million TL, and a period income of 287 million TL.
Akçansa General Manager Şahap Sarıer underlined that Akçansa stands out among its rivals with its innovative products, services, and platforms and that 2016 was another year of records for the company. “We put our mark under Turkey’s prestigious projects. We offered our 100+Concrete product, which was entirely developed by Turkish engineers and entirely produced by Turkish employees, for the construction of the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge – a bridge which connected the Asian and European sides of Istanbul for the third time and made its name into the world construction books with its first-of-its-kind applications. This product brought us the Excellence Award in the U.S. and made its mark as one of the world’s best applications thanks to its success under tough Bosphorus conditions.”
Sarıer: “We are the most important cement brand preferred in the U.S.”
Sarıer also says that Akçansa is not only successful in the areas of production and sales but also in export operations. “With the Low Alkali Cement that we developed for the U.S., we opened the door of this market. Today we are the most important cement brand preferred in the U.S. The investments that we make in the port sector also strengthen our success in export operations. Our brand Akçansa Port takes all customer requests and expectations into consideration and serves with a modern port understanding. Moreover, we embraced a “boutique service” understanding at international standards. We also aim to extend our port business which also serves to third parties,” Sarıer continued.
