Akçansa, a joint venture of Sabancı Holding and Heidelberg Materials, has announced its financial results for the first half of 2025. Accordingly, the company’s sales reached TRY 9.9 billion in the first six months, while EBITDA stood at TRY 905.6 million.
Commenting on the results, Akçansa General Manager Vecih Yılmaz stated:
“Challenging market conditions driven by declining demand marked the first half of 2025. The second quarter showed a more positive trend compared to the first three months, with exports playing a key role in this recovery. Our effective operational network, which enables us to dynamically manage both domestic and export sales, along with our disciplined approach to cost and financial management, allowed us to navigate the period in a balanced manner. The first half of the year was also characterized by inflation-driven cost pressures, in addition to the contraction in domestic demand. Nevertheless, the increase in total sales volume, supported especially by exports, combined with the normalization of energy costs and improved operational efficiency, contributed to our financial performance. During this period, we maintained our strong balance sheet structure. We remain committed to contributing to the sustainable development of our country and creating value for all our stakeholders.”
Highlighting significant achievements in operational efficiency and sustainability during the first half of the year, Yılmaz added:
“To improve the efficiency of operations at our Çanakkale Port, we have initiated the replacement of one of our 10,000 tons/day capacity ship loaders with a new unit capable of loading 15,000 tons/day of cement and clinker. With our Ladik Cement Plant receiving the CSC Gold Level Certificate, we have become the first and only building materials producer in Türkiye with all cement plants holding this distinction. Furthermore, by publishing Türkiye’s first barrier-free integrated annual report in compliance with TSRS standards, we demonstrated our support for an inclusive and sustainable future.”
Yılmaz also underlined the value Akçansa continues to create for its stakeholders in social and environmental areas:
“We take pride in the recognition of our initiatives such as ‘My Volunteering Journey’ in the social sphere and the Marmara Islands Artificial Reef Project in biodiversity, which have been honored with prestigious awards such as the Golden Plumb International Building Catalogue Awards and Türkiye İMSAD Investment in the Future Awards. We will continue to advance our journey toward a sustainable future with determination.”
