Akçansa, among the leading building material companies of Turkey and a corporation of Sabancı Holding and HeidelbergCement, recorded the highest cement export in Turkish history as of 2019.

Mr. Umut Zenar, Akçansa Director General, said in his statement that Akçansa displayed a successful performance in 2019 despite all global and local complications. Zenar said “Export is our essential power. Thanks to our logistic advantages and effective port management, we increased our export revenue by 131 percent in the first three quarters of 2019 comparing to the same period of the previous year. As of 2019, we performed the highest export record of the Turkish cement history.”

A year of record in the port sector

Emphasizing that their successful performance was greatly contributed by activities of the port sector, which has been substantially improved in recent years, Mr. Zenar added, “We increased our capacity utilization ratio by 46 percent in the port activities. We performed approximately 1 million ton of clinker export via Akçansa’s Ambarlı Port in one year for the first time in history. Therefore, now we easily say that we are in the port business.”

Expressing that Akçansa is also a strategic solution partner in the construction of 1915 Çanakkale Bridge after Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, Mr. Umut Zenar concluded “We are proud of having our signatures in such projects taking part the world literature.”
