ARKOZ Ağrı Cement Factory was awarded with the “International Safety Awards” in the field of occupational health and safety organized by the British Safety Council. Turkey won 15 awards in the organization, in which more than 100 institutions and organizations participated from Turkey.
Cengiz Çelik, General Manager of ARKOZ Ağrı Cement Factory, expressed his happiness to win an award in the field of health and occupational safety as follows: “We are pleased to win an award from a leading independent organization in the world such as the British Safety Council, which supports the development of health and occupational safety standards. Considering the dynamics of the pandemic process we are experiencing, we once again witnessed and experienced how important the continuity of a company’s competence in health and safety issues is. During the pandemic process we are working to provide uninterrupted service to our country, our stakeholders and our customers; we have placed the health and safety of our employees, their families, our customers and the society in the first rank. “
Underlining that they implemented several practices in addition to the measures determined by the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Health, Çelik said: “In this process, we have taken pioneering steps through the follow-up mechanism implemented by our occupational health and safety team devotedly, and by closely following the health of our employees, we displayed a sensitive behavior towards our customers and our environment. For this reason, we send an inventory to all our employees every day and ask questions about their health. We have also prioritized the use of our digital channels to minimize the risk of spreading of corona virus. We have achieved our goals together with our employees, taking into account the pandemic process, thanks to the investments we have made for digitalization and our strong technological infrastructure since the day we started production.”
