Calderys’ trainings continue on refractories used in the cement industry.
Refractory materials are used in all processing burners from coal stoves in houses to various heavy industrial furnaces, and the necessities of modern life, in short, almost everything we use, are produced by means of refractories
Refractories are utilized directly or indirectly in production of such products. Refractories used in the cement industry are important for operation of facilities properly. Likewise the fact that despite being the cheapest part of Formula 1 vehicles comparing to its other parts, its tires carry the entire mechanism worth million dollars and ensure traction; refractories in a clinker production line, although cover only 1.5-2 percent in terms of operation costs at most, substantially affects the productivity and sustainability of a plant operated after investments worth million dollars.
Theoretical and practical trainings provided by Calderys to the companies, Oyak Adana, Cimsa Group, Medcem, Traçim, and Batısöke consist of 5 parts.
The first part covers refractories, and the classification thereof. In the second part reviews its designing principles and important issues of application among the elements effecting the performance of refractory such as design, application, and operational conditions.
The third part covers the core of the refractory domain, meaning resources of raw matter utilized in their production as well as the benefits of such raw materials. In the fourth part, case studies are reviewed, and experiences of the field are elaborated. In the fifth part, pre-readied molding and gunning practices are given on site. Accompanied by supervisors, casting cement prepared properly is poured into mold, and any important points requiring attention for this process and the most common mistakes done are recounted. All the personnel attending to the training on field are practiced for gaining experience on it. Besides the theoretical part of the training, a productive training is accomplished by interactive interaction with participants by means of answering any questions and objections from them.
Calderys Sales Manager in Turkey, Mr. Emre Özkurt, who is providing refractory trainings, has hold positions in 11 cement factory as the project manager in charge of refractory operations in new investment Cement Factories previously in Turkey, Middle East, and North Africa for 10 years. He holds the master’s degree in Refractory Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Management from 4 different universities in Turkey and Chin.
