Cement containing recycled building materials is a construction material developed to promote environmentally friendly and sustainable construction practices. This type of cement is produced by replacing the raw materials used in the production of traditional cements with recycled materials.

Some properties of cement containing recycled building materials:

1. Use of Recycled Materials in Cement Production:

Recycled concrete fines are fine particles obtained by crushing and grinding aged concrete. These grains are usually obtained as a result of the process of recycling waste concrete generated during concrete demolition. This material is used to promote environmentally friendly construction practices and reduce the use of natural resources. The old concrete is crushed into pieces using special crushers and grinders to obtain fine grains. This process aims to produce sustainable construction materials by reducing the environmental impact of waste concrete.

2. Sustainability and Environmental Friendliness:

The extraction of raw materials used in conventional cement production can deplete natural resources. Cement containing recycled building materials supports sustainable construction practices by conserving these resources.

3. Energy Saving:

The use of recycled materials in cement production generally requires less energy. This saves energy and can reduce the environmental impact of the cement production process.

4. Physical and Mechanical Properties:

Cement containing recycled building materials can have physical and mechanical properties similar to conventional cements. However, the properties and quality of the recycled materials used can affect the performance of the cement mix.

5. Compliance with Standards:

These types of cements are usually manufactured to be compliant with certain standards and guidelines. This helps to create reliable and durable structures in the construction industry.

Cement containing recycled building materials is an important example of innovation used to reduce environmental impacts, conserve natural resources and promote sustainability in the construction industry. However, it is important that these materials are carefully selected and processed, as the quality and type of recycled materials used can affect the performance of the cement mix.

CPC Certification is authorised by the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change to issue G Certificate of Conformity within the scope of TS EN 197-6 Cement – Part 6: Cement containing recycled building materials Standard.
