This country was followed by Togo and Romania.

Stating that the increase in exports beyond the planned level is promising international competition, Turkish Cement Manufacturers’ Association Chairman Dr. Tamer Saka made the following assessment on the subject: “As the sector, we did not shrink in the domestic market due to the pandemic in the first period of the year, while we performed well in exports in the first 5 months of the year. This increase we have seen above the planned is promising in international competition. It is important to support the sector with economic measures in order to continue to provide foreign currency input and employment security to our country while maintaining the momentum gained in international competition.

As the second largest cement and clinker exporter in the world after Vietnam in 2019, we are the first producer in Europe and the 6th in the world. In case the export performance in the first half of the year spreads to the whole year, our sector may rank first in exports. ”
