The World Cement Association will announce a joint ‘Climate Change Action Plan’ for the world’s cement industry in September, starting with the decisions taken at the Global Climate Change Forum held in Paris.
In addition to targets such as energy efficiency, the industrial usage rate of waste fuels, lower clinker/ cement ratio; it is arrived at a consensus on that investments in technology and innovation and the adaptation of new technologies to the industry play the most important role in this fight in the Forum.
Regarding the Forum, Emir Adıgüzel, the chairman of the World Cement Association, said “Many participants expressed the knowledge sharing, collective work and transparency as a necessity in the solution of the problem and therefore emphasized the importance of the World Cement Association as a common platform for global issues such as fighting against climate change”.
