Being a solution provider to the bulk material handling and the global leader of the sector, Martin Engineering launches a new support program as part of celebrations of its 75th anniversary to encourage its employees to volunteer for working local communities of the region during workhours, starting-off environmental cleaning works in the industrial zone in Istanbul. Environmental cleaning carried out by Martin Engineering employees together with their children was completed in 45 hours by a team of 15 along a 5-kilometer road. Garbage collected in thirty large garbage bags were delivered to a municipal garbage truck. Being happy of fulfilling the responsibility to the earth, the employees expressed that the value of contributing to the environment is almost priceless.
Established in 1944 based on a simple solution suggested for improving the industrial safety and productivity, the Company launched the initiative of “Support to Development of Communities” for its employees in Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India (EMEAI) region. The program, reflecting the company’s vision of “Igniting the wick of perfection for families’ welfare and development of communities’”, provides an opportunity to each of its employees to make time equivalent to a day of work-shift for voluntary activities serving to a good purpose at local level individually or as a team.
Accordingly, such activities are included in the communal issues of education, health, culture, art, and environment as donating blood, participating to environmental cleanup, assisting to reparation of public buildings, forming a communal garden of sense, getting involved in social and solidarity organizations, and providing consultancy and guidance. The target is to provide 750-hour of support to entire EMEAI region by the end of 2019.
