Seza Cement Board Chairman Prof. Dr. Yasemin Açık was included in the list of “The Most Powerful 50 Business Women of Turkey” prepared this year by Fortune Turkey for the 11th time. It was emphasized that Prof. Dr. Açık, who entered the list for the fourth time in a row, is one of the important business people investing in the Eastern Anatolia Region, and attention was also drawn to the work she has done in the field of civil society in order to make women more active in business life and to increase the number of women entrepreneurs.
Emphasizing that Prof. Dr. Yasemin Açık is one of the important business people investing in the Eastern Anatolia Region, Fortune Turkey gave the following views: “She works for women to be more active in business life. In 2008, she founded Elazig Business Women Association to bring together women entrepreneurs in the city, to increase the number of women entrepreneurs and to contribute to the improvement of women’s place in society”. Stating that Seza Cement touched the lives of 10 thousand people in the region, the statement continued as follows: “Her dream is to make investments that contribute to the reduction of the regional development gap and local development, increase employment and touch the lives of many people in the region”.

Commenting on the listing of Fortune Magazine, Prof. Dr. Yasemin Açık said: “Since my childhood, I have always been sensitive to social phenomena such as development difference between regions, injustice in income distribution, and inequality of opportunity for women and men. For this reason, I never had a dream to get away from my country and region. On the contrary, I saw educating myself and getting to know the world as a tool for being useful for these lands. I tried to do my academic, civil society and business activities in the province and region where I was born and grew up. As a result, it is an honor for me to be in the list prepared by Fortune Magazine, one of the most prestigious publications in our country, for the fourth time in a row. Every project I have implemented for the development of the region and for women gives me strength. I will continue my endeavors in this direction”.
