Serving as Chairman of Turkish Cement Manufacturers’ Association (TCMB) since the beginning of July 2019, Dr. Tamer Saka is again elected as the Chairman in the TCMB General Assembly convened on December 17th, Monday.
Presenting his evaluations in the General Assembly, Dr. Tamer Saka, Chairman of Turkish Cement Manufacturers’ Association (TCMB) pointed out that Turkey is the leading country in Europe in cement production, and the second largest exporter in the world.
Dr. Tamer Saka explained that “In 2019, total clinker and cement export increased by 68% reaching up to 23 million tonnage. Total export value of the industry increased by 44% reaching up to 877 million USD, compared to previous year. Our major export markets among our over 100 export countries are USA, Israel, Ghana and Ivory Coast. In January 2020, cement export raised by 81% resulting in 1.1 million tonnage, whilst clinker export raised by 29% resulting in 1.3 million tonnage. For this year, we expect our domestic sales to increase by circa. 2%, and export by 15%” and adds that
“I strongly believe in that we will continue to contribute in our national economy thanks to the synergy and collaboration with our new Board of Directors composed after the General Assembly.”
Chaired by Dr. Tamer Saka, Board of Directors of Turkish Cement Manufacturers’ Association (TCMB) composed of Adil Sani Konukoğlu as Acting Chairman, and Nihat Özdemir, Ali Pastonoğlu, Gökhan Bozkurt and Fatih Yücelik as Vice Chairmans.
