Turkish Cement Manufacturers’ Association (TÇMB) Chairman Dr. Tamer Saka and Board Member Cem Sak, Gökhan Bozkurt, Prof. Dr. Yasemin Açık and Cenker Mirzaoğlu and CEO of the Union İsmail Bulut, Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu, Minister of Environment and Urbanization Murat Kurum, Elazig Governor Çetin Oktay Kaldırım and Elazig Mayor Sahin Serifogullari examined the works carried out in Elazig and visited earthquake victims.
Turkish Cement Manufacturers’ Association (TÇMB) Chairman Dr. Tamer Saka made a statement during his visit to Elazig. Stating that it is a very pleasing development that the buildings built after the building inspection system are not damaged in the Elazig earthquake, Saka said, “Reinforced concrete buildings can be built safely against any natural disaster with a safe design, selection of quality materials, application of the right construction technique and effective inspection. We can build safer reinforced concrete buildings by taking lessons from the painful experiences we have had. One of the safe construction techniques is the use of gross concrete technique. With this construction technique, construction errors are minimized since the reinforced concrete bearing elements appear naked and manufactured with more care.”
