Can you tell a little about Yılmaz Makina and your branding process?
As Yılmaz Makina, we are happy to reach our goals by making heavy industry investments with our 25 years of hardware, knowledge and experience. We are at a point where our employees, partners and the market 100% believe in the service we provide, our projects and what we say, understand us and experience working with us. We are taking firm steps towards becoming a sustainable brand. We continue our services by producing professional solutions with the power we receive from low cost plans, planning, organization and environmental awareness. Yılmaz Makina continues its operations by leveraging four key strengths consisting of H&S Belief, Planning and Organization Skill, Low Cost Solutions and Environmental Awareness. Some of our specialties include engineering, material supply, manufacturing, assembly, maintenance and operation of some facilities we undertake. Especially, we undertake the installation, maintenance, repair and commissioning of units such as rotary kiln, cooling, mills, crushers. In addition, we create brand integrity by offering turnkey projects of all kinds of industrial plants with expert solution partners.
Can you tell us about your mission you set on becoming a brand?
Our mission is to meet the needs of investors in line with values, goals and strategies, to serve with high quality and reliable business understanding at international standards, to ensure the satisfaction and long-term commitment of investors and end users, and to use all resources in the most effective way. We work with the mission of constantly developing and growing by closely following the technological developments in our industry.
In this direction, we have the ability to make all kinds of industrial plants turnkey with our expert solution partners. With 800m2 closed manufacturing factory and 10.000m2 open area, we also manufacture and install all kinds of steel constructions and sheet metal constructions such as bunkers, chutes and gas channels.
What is the difference of Yılmaz Makina from other EPC Contractors?
Our working system starts with the preparation of the project and the preparation of the business plan, offering comparable equipment alternatives by creating low cost and correct process solutions. We are developing a real and feasible business program in which all inputs are evaluated. And most importantly, we work with a system that complies with international standards and where environmental and occupational health and safety is kept at a high level.
First of all, we really love our job, we constantly research to be better. At this point, we always turn our face out. We work disciplined and programmed by producing solutions, not excuses. We know the contribution of investments to the country’s economy and we are really struggling for the best.
When you evaluate the sector, what can you say for 2019? How was it for you?
Due to the economic problems throughout the country, all sectors followed a path towards contraction and shrinking. We can say that 2019 was a year of complete negativities in general. However, despite all these negativities as a company, we continued to grow by continuing with the projects and works we worked on. In order to overcome the economic difficulties, we reduced the costs by saving on various issues and started 2020.
What are your expectations and goals from 2020?
We aim to continue the growth we achieved with the projects and works we have done last year in 2020. We hope that 2020 will be better for the industry. The sector works as a connected gear. For this reason, both the state and the private sector should make necessary decisions and make decisions towards growth in order to revive the sector. At this point, we believe that the necessary R&D studies will significantly revive the sector.
How do you manage not to be affected by the negativities in the industry?
A healthy recovery of these days, which we can see as a stagnant period, requires careful and cautious behaviour. Anyone who is conscious, does not lose focus and is dominant in his job will turn this period into an opportunity. At this point, we are constantly working to maintain success by breaking and even improving our connections with the outside. We continue our way with the proactive perspective we have in the negativities.
Can we get your evaluations on occupational health and safety issues? What can you say about your company’s work and innovations in the field of OHS?
Occupational health and safety has turned into a life culture for Yılmaz Makina. In order to create and maintain this culture, we evaluate occupational health and safety management, approach and policy under the headings of “Leadership, Risk Assessment and Communication”. As Yılmaz Makina, “Occupational Health and Safety” starts with the commitment of senior management. In our OHS firm, we approach this approach as a value from the top level to the bottom and work with teams competent in terms of OHS in all business processes. OHS Management
was established in our company to cover proactive and reactive approaches. At this point, our procedures are prepared and applied in 5 different categories.
Finally, we would like to get to know you too. Who is Hakkı Yılmaz?
I was born in Erzurum in 1973. I completed my primary and high school education in Erzurum. Then I stayed in Istanbul for a while for undergraduate education. Then, after working as a manager in the private sector for a while, I started to work as Yılmaz Makina site manager in 2002. I have been working as General Manager at Yılmaz Makina since 2008. I am married and have a child.
