VEGA is a “Global Producer” for international companies and factories in cement and mining industries.
Level and pressure sensors are utilized in various stages of cement production from crusher control to silo level measuring for years, and preferred as the sector leader in many countries including Turkey.
Sensors used in the cement industry must do reliable measurements under challenging working conditions. Durable VEGA sensors ensure long term usage in all stages of production without maintenance.
As the most preferred brand and product in level measurements and limit level detections as well as pressure measurements in Cement silos, Raw meal silos, Solid fuel silos, Fluid fuel tanks, Truck loading bunkers, VEGA serves to the cement industry.
Our Solutions;
80 GHZ RADAR Level Measurement (in your Silos, Bunkers, and Tanks)
Silo Measurements
VEGAPULS 69 – Radar Level Sensor
By utilizing non-contact level measurements via radar, you may carry out reliable measurements independently of high dust generation and weather conditions. Since it is not affected from noise, it will provide high operational efficiency and minimize maintenance necessity owing to the method of non-contact measuring.
Level measurement and limit level detection in crushers
Rock pieces of transportable sizes are obtained by breaking off pieces from bedrocks utilizing the blasting method. Such rock pieces are used for obtaining basic construction materials such as
crushed rock, stone chips, or sand in further working processes. Large rock pieces are crushed in various dimensions utilizing jaw crushers and roller crushers. In order to keep the abrasion rate of crushers at minimum as required by economic operations, both level measuring and limit level detection are necessary.
VEGAMIP 61
You may carry out limit level detection by means of a microwave barrier in crusher. In this way;
• You may ensure operations almost without any maintenance thanks to non-contact measurements,
• Reliable measurement results even under conditions of high amount of dirt and agglutination,
• Measurements from outside thanks to durable plastic or ceramic window.
Radiometric Measuring Systems
Cyclone Congestion – Radiometric Measuring
Undesired positions and full provision of process safety Cyclones in clinker production are used in preheating raw meals. Raw meal is preheated at temperatures up to +900 °C in the cyclone before coming to rotary furnace for clinker production. The steam formed by cooling and condensing during moving of raw meal in cyclones is adhered to inner surfaces of cyclones in the preheating tower and raw meals. Consequently, layers are formed on inner surfaces of cyclones in time resulting in clogging. Constant monitoring of layer thickness ensures uninterrupted operation of the process.

In order to obtain precise and accurate measurement results unaffected from the process conditions as well as full provision of process safety by detection of adhesions, you may monitor any clogging in cyclones by means of Radiometric Measurements. Radiometric non-contact measurement ensures high operational efficiency.
By monitoring cyclones, interventions at due time are possible. It is also known that such monitoring is carried out in some plants by means of pressure measuring.
At the same time, in order for avoiding that the sensor is not affected from high temperature, cooling pipes are used to keep the sensor away from the process.
Having durable such devices without maintenance are crucial criteria for plant managers and maintenance crew. By utilizing radiometric measuring technique, it is possible to carry out constant measurements of limit level, fractional clogging, level, and density.
Mass flow measurement on conveyor belt
Solid materials are carried to the production process mostly via conveyor belts. In order to carry out control of such processes properly and calculate operational costs, amount of transported solid material must be accurate. Yielding the best productivity results from plant operations depends on non-contact measuring of the amount transported.
Radiometric Measuring Devices: WEIGHTRAC 31 and VEGASOURCE 31 (Source)
Reliable measurement results are ensured independently from dust and dirt formation by means of radiometric mass flow measurement on solid materials on conveyor belts. Furthermore;
• It ensures precise measuring of any quantity transported and
• Operational convenience without abrasion due to non-contact measuring.
• High operational safety with pneumatic on/off system of the anti-radiation cover
• Convenience of usage without control area, thanks to reliable protective shield
Level and pressure measurement in clinker cooler
In cement production, raw meal is cooked in long rotary furnaces to obtain clinker. Clinkers taken out from rotary furnace are about +1300 °C and needs to be cooled down to +200 °C before storage. For this purpose, clinker bed is cooled by a constant airflow. In order to have efficient cooling, pressure checking must be performed below the clinker cooler. Clinker at 1000 °C temperature needs to be measured reliably on the conveyor belt.
You may perform a reliable level measurement with radar in clinker cooler with VEGAPULS 68. It also provide precise measurements even at very high temperatures; utilizing a fan and compressed air, effective cooling of antenna is ensured, and the service life of the device is longer due to the heat-tolerant antenna system.
Pressure control with VEGABAR 82 in clinker cooler; thanks to abrasion-resistant measuring cell, long service life, and flushmounting of the device, it provides maintenance-free operation.
IIOT – Industry 4.0 Solutions
With VIS (Vega Inventory System), you will be able to monitor controlling of the silos of your cement plant from one center, and use your logistic system more efficiently with forecasting calculations. Particularly those producers whose silos are located far away from their own areas perform all the controls via a center leading to economic gains through timesavings from shipments as well as by reducing workload.
VEGA Inventory System allows suppliers to learn their customers’ inventories in their silos on real time basis. VEGA aimed to facilitate works of producer companies by means of the software having all the valid security certificates and integrated with maps in the logistic scheduling. Furthermore, it allows storage of the data of companies securely in cloud with ensured data security.
