We left behind a year in which we continued our activities strongly with our position as the leader of the building materials industry. With our 3 factories in Istanbul- Büyükçekmece, Çanakkale, and Samsun-Ladik, nearly 30 ready-mixed concrete facilities spread over the Black Sea, Marmara, and Aegean regions of our ready mixed concrete brand Betonsa, 4 cement terminals, and 2 harbors, we have undertaken activities that contribute to the national economy in all regions where we operate.

Just like the other years, with our innovation-oriented efforts the year 2021 also has been a year in which we have developed products and solutions that meet the demands of our domestic and international customers. In addition, our social projects that we have developed to increase the quality of life of the societies that we are a part of in the regions we operate in, continued.

We are happy to take part in projects that are the pride of Turkey.
We of course are happy of being solution partner in many projects that can be seen as the pride of Turkey. The latest of these projects it the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge. In cooperation with Vodafone Business, our ready concrete brand Betonsa has developed a product we call Smart Concrete. Our institution can instantly monitor the concrete strength through the Smart Concrete used in the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge via a smart sensor placed within.

Again, we introduced a special product, Hidromix, to the market. This product was developed to provide structural insulation in in projects that require water impermeability such as water tanks, pools, terraces, and roofs. It was produced in Betonsa facilities after undergoing sensitive production and quality processes. Hidromix is, thanks to its superior durability, resistant to all physical and chemical environmental effects that the structure will be exposed to during its service life. We believe that Hidromix, which is specially designed for project needs, will provide great advantages to the construction industry.

When we look at 2021 from a sectoral perspective, it should be underlined that as a sector, Turkey ranks first in the world in terms of export power. As a sector we continue to maintain our leadership position in exports in the international arena.

In 2022 we will continue to undertake projects that will create value for our economy and society
In 2022 we will focus on the right management of energy and efficient use of energy resources. We believe that the consumption will not change this year. The exchange rate will also be decisive this year. We need to open a separate parenthesis for the export part. It is a very important subject for our sector and the economy and we are one of the most valuable players.

Of course, when we look at it from a sustainability perspective, we can say that clean and sustainable energy will come at the top of the most decisive topics of 2022 in terms of our
sector. In this regard, items of this year’s agenda will be significantly increasing the rate of use of alternative fuels that replace fossil fuels, unlocking the energy efficiency potential in our operations and evaluating renewable energy sources, environmental protection, combating climate change, and cost management.

We will continue to keep sustainability at the center of all our activities together with its ecological and social dimensions beyond its financial dimension and to undertake projects that will create value for our economy and society.
