Akçansa increased its domestic sales tonnage by 13 percent in the first quarter of the year, when the domestic market showed signs of recovery. While the company’s total sales revenue reached 527.3 million TL in the said period, EBITDA, which was 4 percent last year, increased to 14.1 percent.
Akçansa announced its consolidated income statement as of 31 March 2021 and its financial results for the period. Accordingly, in the first quarter of the year, the company’s sales revenue was 527.3 million TL and its net profit was 24.8 million TL. EBITDA, which was 4 percent in the same quarter of last year, increased to 14.1 percent in 2021, while the net profit margin increased to 4.7 percent.
Sales in the domestic market reached 800,000 tons
While Akçansa exported a total of 711 thousand tons of cement and clinker in the January-March period, the company’s export revenue increased by 7 percent on TL basis. Domestic sales increased due to the strengthening expectations that the construction sector would recover in the coming months. With a total domestic sales of 706,000 tons last year, the sales of the company in the same period this year reached 800,000 tons with an increase of 13 percent.
Akçansa General Manager M. Zeki Kanadıkırık pointed out that the difficulties created by the pandemic continued in the first quarter of the year as well: “Despite the troubles affecting all world economies, as Akçansa, we demonstrated a successful performance by increasing our sales revenue to 527.3 million TL and our net profit to 24.8 million TL in the first three months. We will work together to achieve better performance at home and abroad further in the year based on positive developments.”
