Turkey’s first Energy Generation Plant which will generate energy from Waste Heat using the Technology of ‘Organic Rankine Cycle’ Project will be carried out by CTP Team Italy.
CTP Team Italy signed a turnkey contract for the “Energy Generation from Waste Heat Project” of Çimko Narlı Cement Plant of Sanko Holding in March 2018. With the Organic Rankine Transformation System which will be applied for the first time in Turkey, the wasted gas from the furnace cooling system will allow the 7MW Turbo generator generating electricity by evaporating the organic fluid which feeds the system. The energy plant to be installed will provide about 12% of the current plant’s electricity needs, with an annual energy efficiency of 7920 hours and an annual energy of 36 million KWh. The plant is scheduled to start operating in May 2019.
Making explanations after the agreement,CTP Team General Manager Özkan ÇETİN and Sales Director Marco Ernesto DONGHI said: “The turnkey plant to be established will be a first in Cement Sector in Turkey. Our customers are trying to reduce operating costs in the sector and one of the biggest cost items is electricity. Generating energy from the unused current waste heat will decrease our customers’ costs in general and will increase their competitiveness in the international arena. The technology we offer does not require water consumption unlike the previous methods. Accordingly, we are generating energy without consuming natural resources by using thermal oil instead of water while preventing waste heat from being released into the air. “
