Batı Anadolu Group with its new generation product boron cement aims to build more environmentally friendly, low-cost, highly resistant to physical effects building and to contribute to the country’s economy. The production of boron cement, which the world’s cement industry regards as the strategic building material of the future, is carried out by using boron clay waste in the Batıçim plant in Bornova, İzmir.
Feyyaz Ünal, Member of the Executive Board of Batı Anadolu Group, emphasized that the evaluation of an industrial waste as a raw material in another sector has a great importance in terms of the environmental sustainability. He said that they made serious investments to increase energy efficiency and that they gave priority to waste usage. Ünal also said that they invested approximately 100 million TL in the cement factories of Batıçim and Batısöke in 5 years for environmental and energy efficiency projects.
