Çimsa, a subsidiary of Sabancı Holding, has been contributing to the lives of disabled people in the region for seven years within the framework of the corporate social responsibility project it carries out in cooperation with Mersin Metropolitan Municipality.

Battery powered wheelchairs were delivered to those in need at the event, which was held on June 2 in accordance with the pandemic conditions with the cooperation of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality and the participation of Çimsa business partners. Çimsa Mersin Plant Manager Mehmet Emin Kalınağaç, who attended the event, underlined in his speech that disabled individuals and their families have various needs. Kalınağaç continued his speech as follows: “As Çimsa, we are happy to contribute to enable disabled people to participate in social life and have equal opportunities, and that our project, which we started in 2015 with the initiative of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality, continues in its seventh year. I hope that the Week of the Disabled will increase our social awareness and sensitivity and lead to the removal of barriers between us.”

With the corporate social responsibility project it has been carrying out since 2015, Çimsa aims to raise awareness about the inclusion of disabled individuals in social life and to draw attention to the problems individuals encounter in their daily lives. With this project, Çimsa delivered a total of 281 battery powered wheelchairs to disabled individuals in seven years.

Carrying out projects based on the environment and people and aiming to increase the level of individual and social well-being, Çimsa aims to expand the scope of its social responsibility activities and deliver the benefits it creates to wider populations.
