Çimsa, a subsidiary of Sabancı Holding, increased its turnover by 92 percent from 854 million TLs to 1 billion 641 million TLs in the first half of the year compared to the same period of the previous year. It also increased its net profit from 38 million TLs to 580 million TLs.
Çimsa General Manager Umut Zenar evaluated the company’s first 6-month financial results and said that Sabancı Holding and Çimsa, based on their international strength and vision, always work with the goal of sustainable growth wherever they operate in the global cement industry. Pointing out that Çimsa, one of the biggest cement industrialists in Turkey, is also one of the leading international players in the white cement industry, Zenar explained that as a requirement of this leading position, they continue to increase their success in operational results and realize their strategic priorities that they shared with the public: “2021 was a year in which very successful steps were taken not only in terms of profitability but also in terms of balance sheet management. As a result of our strong operational profitability and the strategic actions we took, our consolidated net financial debt, which was TL 1.3 billion in the same period of the previous year, decreased to 665 MTLs.”
The strategic steps we have taken as Çimsa, especially in the last period, have been effective in this great success. As an international brand, we differentiated ourselves with our value-added products such as white cement and CAC. With the improvements we made in our overseas operations, our investments in Houston, USA increased the efficiency, while our operations in Spain, Italy, Germany, TRNC and Russia achieved results that satisfied us.
Having strengthened its position in the global arena with the acquisition of Spain Buñol, one of the biggest international acquisitions of the Sabancı Group in recent years, for 155.2 million dollars, Çimsa will continue to grow with a similar momentum in the future as a global player.”
