“Zero Waste Certificate” applications of OYAK Cement Factories A.Ş. and OYAK Beton have been concluded. According to this; Nine facilities of OYAK Cement and one facility of OYAK Concrete were awarded the Zero Waste Certificate by way of setting up the Zero Waste Management System.
OYAK Cement Factories AŞ. and OYAK Beton Misis Ready-Mixed Concrete Facility were awarded the “Zero Waste Certificate”, by fulfilling the requirements of the Zero Waste Regulation. As OYAK contributes to the goal of sustainable return by way of developing the responsible behavior models which are considerate to the needs of today and tomorrow, it has also initiated the OYAK Zero Waste Project in order to comply with the relevant legislation and caused it to be implemented it in its companies.
OYAK Çimento Fabrikaları A.Ş., which successfully established the Zero Waste Management System in line with the Zero Waste Regulation, Adana Cement Branch, Aslan Cement Branch, Bolu Cement Branch, Ankara Branch, Mardin Cement Branch, Ünye Cement Branch, İskenderun I – II facilities and Denizli Çimento Sanayi TAŞ. Were qualified for and conferred the Zero Waste Certificate. Moreover, OYAK Concrete Misis Ready-Mixed Concrete Facility operating in Adana has a Zero Waste Certificate, while the application made by OYAK Paper Packaging is being assessed and considered by the Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization.
OYAK Cement Factories AŞ. and OYAK Beton focused on efforts so as to reduce the amount of waste generation and contribute to a sustainable environment by way of reducing the amount of waste left to nature with the Zero Waste Certificate. Moreover, the efficient use of resources and the recycling of recyclable wastes make great contributions to sustainable resource management and cyclical economy.
In order to use resources efficiently within the scope of the works carried out in OYAK’s Cement Factories and OYAK Concrete Misis Facility for the prevention and reduction of waste generation; it is planned to develop sustainable production and consumption models, to utilize durable, repairable, reusable and curable products, to prefer reusable products instead of disposable products for single use, to raise awareness and to organize activities to increase awareness. An estimated 15% waste reduction rate is targeted at the end of 1 year with the efforts to reduce waste.
