The project launched in Help Steps application with the participation of ÇEİS members has reached 45 million steps. The Voluntary Steps were donated to the Women’s Labor Evaluation Foundation, which supports women’s efforts to improve their lives and strengthen their leadership in local development.
With in the scope of the Volunteer Steps project, implemented in cooperation with the Help Steps application, Cement Industry Employers’ Union (ÇEİS), one of Turkey’s most rooted employers’ unions, has transformed the steps taken by cement industry employees during the day into donations in order to encourage volunteering in the sector and turn their sensitivity to social issues into energy. The project, which began with the participation of cement sector member employees operating in many provinces throughout Turkey, was finalized as of March 8, International Women’s Day. Every step taken by all employees during the relevant period was donated to the Women’s Labor Evaluation Foundation, which supports women’s efforts to improve their lives and strengthen their leadership in local development.
The Voluntary Steps were implemented within the scope of the #BenimleGelecek (#FuturewithMe) project initiated by the ÇEİS in order to support the empowerment of women’s place in social and economic life in 2021.
ÇEİS Board Member Yasemin Açık made the following statements about the project: “We are all trying to heal the wounds of the earthquake disaster we experienced in early February. As a country, we have seen, after this catastrophe, once again that unity and togetherness are crucial to healing our wounds. Through Voluntary Steps, we would like to show that we are on women’s side by taking steps, want them to believe that “women can achieve whatever they want.” I find it very valuable that this campaign is donated to the Women’s Labor Evaluation Foundation, which works in common understanding with them in the belief that women are empowered to improve and transform their lives, families, and society. With our #BenimleGelecek Project, which we started as ÇEİS, we are working hard to support our colleagues in the cement sector to guide them, to emphasize that we care about their existence and that their efforts are of great value to us. We continue to deliver the “I am Aware of Equality” trainings, which we started with the Mother & Child Education Foundation’s (AÇEV) initiative with the Value of Equality, to the sector employees. We are also working on new projects for field workers. We are proud to make a donation to the Women’s Labor Assessment Foundation by taking 45 million steps through the Voluntary Steps campaign we started in cooperation with Help Steps. We will continue to work with the goal of supporting everyone to say “FuturewithMe” out loud and of highlighting that woman can succeed in any area regardless of industry. On this occasion, I congratulate all women in our country for March 8th International Women’s Day.
