The total cost of the project which has a lenght of 624 kilometers and divided to 3 stage will be 4 billion liras. Ankara- Afyonkarahisar line will be completed to 700 million liras. It will be reduced to 3.5 hours the travel time between Ankara and İzmir ,which is 14 hours by train.the infrastructure construction contract between Ankara-Afyonkarahisar was signed ,which is the first phase of the project of Ankara –İzmir High Speed Train . The total cost of project to be made in three stages and which has a lenght of 624 kilometers will find 4 billion liras. The area between Ankara and Afyon, signed its agreement will be 167 kilometers and will cost 700 million liras. The infrastructure construction contract between Ankara-Afyonkarahisar which is the first phase of the project of Ankara –İzmir High Speed Train was signed by Binali Yıldırım who is Transport, Shipping and Communication Minister , Veysel Eroğlu who is Forestry and Water Affairs Minister and the business partnership in between Sigma-Burkay-Makimsan-YDA.Minister Yıldırım speaking at the signing ceremony said that ‘’ Ankara- Afyonkarahisar line has over the cost of 700 million liras, and stated , ‘’there are also upper of this structure and there are also other parts.Thus it is a fairly large project. Such projects not ordinarily articulated 10 years ago. And added Today is made that the high –speed railways from Ankara to Turkey’s east, South , West . Bakan Yıldırım saying there would be a high speed train station in every 150 kilomteres and to be met with the high speed train between metropolitan when going to 150 kilometers in every direction, ‘’ Today stated that it will have to 3.5 hours from Afyonkarahisar to İstanbul ,2.5 hours to Ankara and It will be 1.5 hours from Afyonkarahisar to İzmir by train with this project. When this Project is completed it will be maximum 3,5 hours to go İzmir ’’ Yıldırım is expressed that they took the steps required for development of the country, their new motto is ‘’ Black train will be delayed, the fast train will catch up’’. Süleyman Karaman who is TCDD General Director stated that High speed train lines built in the 21st century served as the locomotive about bringing a level of contemporary to the cities and added that Eskişehir, Ankara and Konya that is served by HST have become a brand and won a great dynamism in their economic, social and cultural lifes. Karaman, asserting much increase of this dynamism when Istanbul, Sivas and Bursa high-speed train routes were put into operation, spoke like this: “Ankara-İzmir high-speed train corridor has also been handled, the tender construction of Ankara-Afyonkarahisar area which is the first stage of the corridor has obtained 26 offers and the Project has drawn great attention even in the tender phase. The most important step is being taken in order the high-speed train to take the road to İzmir in the process starting with the contract we signed today. “ Veysel Eroğlu, Forestry and Water Affairs Minister, wanted the contractor company Sigma-Burkay-Makimsan-YDA business partnership to move the construction period which is 1080 days to an earlier time. Then, Hüseyin Altay, representer of the contractor company, gave the promise to complete the project 6 months earlier.
Upon Eroğlu suggested this time period to be 8 months, Minister Yıldırım said that: “We don’t urge. Let’s say 6 months’ time period is assured, 8 months are wish.”
In the course of 1080 days’ project duration, 11 subways whose length is totally 8.000 m., 16 viaduct whose lenght is totally 6.300 m, 24 bridges, 116 underpass and overpass and 195 headwall are going to be constructed. 65.500.000 m3 earthwork is going to be materialized. The Project whose charge of the construction is 714.432,200 TL is going to be carried out by Sigma-Burkay-Makimsan-YDA business partnership. The second stage of Afyonkarahisar-Usak construction tender is going to be gone out within this year. Revision studies of Uşak-Manisa-Izmir stage application projects are proceeding. Süleyman Karaman, general manager of Turkish State Railways, gave this information: “In the current condition, travel with Ankara-Izmir railway which is 824 km, lasts approximately 14 hours and with bus, it lasts 8 hours. The compete of this railway to land road cannot be possible. Not only Ankara- Afyonkarahisar, Uşak,-İzmir is going to get close with Ankara-Izmir High-speed train Project, integrated with Istanbul-Ankara, Ankara-Sivas, Ankara-Konya high-speed trains but also, a 250 km per hour speed available high-speed train which is 624 km in Ankara-(Polatlı)-Afyonkarahisar, Afyonkarahisar-Uşak and Uşak-Manisa-İzmir Project stages is going to be constructed. Afyon-Karahisar area whose contruction contract we have already signed is 167 km and is going to depart as from Ankara-Konya land road’s 120. Km.”
